Fortification premises Ravelin 13 is located in the fortification moat of the fortress Josefov. It is an area with the surface hardened with asphalt or concrete located outside the residential area. At the moment, Jaroměř town is providing its basic maintenance and protection. In 2007 the area is being used mainly for organizing social events, concerts etc. In the long-term plan, the Jaroměř town supposes to rebuild these premises to a zone, which function will be adapted for use of square casern and military hospital.
The premises are suitable especially for organizing cultural, sport, and other collective events. Other ways of use of the premises will be a subject of negotiation with the owner of the premises.

The property is an immovable cultural monument and it is a part of the town monument reservation (MPR). It is located on the territory of suggested European important locality “Josefov – fortress” of the system Natura 2000.
There is a hygiene zone of drinking water sources protection level II interfering with the premises. The premises is located on the territory of protected area of natural water accumulation (CHOPAV) “East bohemian chalk”.
Jaroměř town is located circa 17 km north of the regional capital, circa 19 km southwest of Náchod and circa 120 km northeast of Prague. The altitude is 254 m above sea level, the area is 2 395 ha, number of inhabitants: 12 767 (on January 1st, 2006). It is an important transfer nod (road and railway).
